Will food be served in the Rec Hall?

Electric food warmers may be used with prior Superintendent approval. No on-site food preparation. No candles or flame of any kind, including Sterno-type food warmers.

Will alchohol be served?

If yes, Renter must complete and submit an Alcohol Party Plan and Waiver 30 days in advance, which may require use of a licensed bartender. See Attachment B, incorporated by reference as part of this application and completed agreement.

Do you need to rent audio/visual equipment?

We can provide a projector and screen, microphones and speakers and audio recording equipment.

Do you need help arranging for transportation/shuttles to and from McCarthy?

During most of the summer, there are daily shuttles or vans, but schedules vary and usually do not extend into the evening, so a local shuttle charter may be necessary. Public parking is extremely limited in Kennecott, and the WMC has zero tolerance for anyone drinking and driving.

Are you planning to use decorations?

NPS prohibits tacking or penetrating wall surfaces, but Renter may use existing nails and hardware already in place to hang lightweight decorations. If necessary, may use high quality painters masking tape that is specifically designed to not lift paint. Do not use “Command Strips” since they can damage paint. Use of existing curtain rods for lightweight decorations (e.g., LED light strings) is OK. Existing interpretive exhibits may be covered with prior Superintendent’s approval. The WMC has photos of appropriate decorations used in the past. The WMC does not provide decorations.
